Member Weekend - Stoney Cove
A fun weekend of diving with friends
- Starts 16 MarStarts 16 Mar
- Stoney Cove, Leicestershire
All the details:
We're off to one of our favourite inland dive sites for a weekend of great diving. Stoney Cove in Leicestershire. First established as a dive site in (about) 1960, Stoney Cove is now a fabulous playground for all levels of diver. Attractions include a number of varied wrecks including the Viscount aircraft cockpit, the tugboat Defiant, the trawler Belinda and the UK's most dived wreck - the Stanegarth. If you're lucky you can also find the resident monster Nessie. If it sounds like the perfect place to complete the PADI Wreck Diver course, then you're right - we'll be carrying out this course while we're there. But if you're already wreck qualified, there's still plenty of fun diving with friends to complete. Most people arrive on Friday night ready to dive Saturday and Sunday - but several of the team will be arriving first thing on Friday morning for an extra day of diving. We usually stay at the Mill on the Soar in nearby Broughton - and we're just waiting to confirm our places at this comfy and reasonably priced Bed and Breakfast, where Saturday night dinner is a must. It's free to join the weekend - you just need to pay directly for entrance to Stoney Cove (registration required) and accommodation.
