All the details:

The best way to learn to dive in the UK is to pair your Open Water Diver training with Dry Suit Diver training. Normally a separate course, you'll save £99 by completing this together with your Open Water Diver certification. You'll learn some extra skills in using a dry suit as part of your pool training and then complete all of your Open Water dive in a dry suit with a thermal undersuit. What happens next? When you book your PADI Open Water Diver course, one of the Dive Academy team will contact you to arrange access to PADI's amazing eLearning package. You'll read about diving, watch videos and answer quizzes to learn all the theory you need to know. Typically this takes approximately 7-8 hours over five chapters. You don't need to do this all at once, but you do need to complete your eLearning prior to your pool date(s). The team will also arrange your pool training, this can be one full day (approx 6-7 hours), two part days (or two evenings), or you can even complete one lesson a week if there's time before your Open Water dates. Finally you'll complete four qualifying Open Water Dives over two days. To complete your Dry Suit Diver training you'll then complete an additional dive at the same location. PADI Open Water Diver can be completed at Dive Academy for students 12 and upwards, however for 12-13 year olds we recommend Scuba Diver as a first step (choose the back button and select from the menu). For children aged 8-11 we recommend PADI Seal Team. To complete the Open Water Diver course you'll need to be comfortable in the water and be able to swim 200 metres without stopping (no time limit) and tread water or float for 10 minutes. While all equipment rental is included within your course fee, we recommend that you purchase your own mask, snorkel, boots and fins. These will improve your comfort underwater and will be fabulous items for both diving and snorkelling after the course. However there is no need to rush out and purchase these in advance, a full range is available within our dive centre and your instructor will be able to help you select correctly fitting equipment. We also offer a discount on snorkelling packages. Your course fee also includes all tuition, learning materials and kit rental. Entry to the Open Water dive site at Vobster Quay costs £24.50 per day which is payable directly to the site operator on the day and is not included within the course fee.
