The PADI Drift Diver speciality course teaches you how to enjoy going with the flow as you use ocean currents to glide along. It feels like flying – except that you’re underwater using scuba equipment. Along with drift diving techniques and procedures, you’ll: - Receive an introduction to drift diving equipment – floats, lines and reels - Get an overview of aquatic currents – causes and effects - Practice with buoyancy control, navigation and communication during two drift dives - Learn techniques for staying close to a buddy or together as a group as you float with the current This course consists of two dives in one day and is suitable for PADI Open Water divers (or equivalent) aged 12 and older. You will require a DSMB and spool/reel for the PADI Drift Diver course. We also recommend that you have your own line cutter and compass. Standard kit hire is not included in the course price. If you are a Dive Academy member you will receive free standard kit hire for recreational courses taken with us. Talk to a member of the team about joining Dive Academy.
