All the details:
PADI Scuba Diver is a great certification for 12-13 year olds which allows them to start diving and then complete their certification after some experience. It is also suitable for divers who don't want to commit to the full course. Scuba Diver is similar to the PADI Open Water Diver course, however it includes only the first three pool lessons and the first two qualifying dives. On certification you'll be qualified to dive to 12 metres with a PADI Professional such as an Instructor or Divemaster. You will be able to upgrade your certification to the full Open Water Diver by completing the remaining pool and open water dives at any PADI Dive Centre anywhere in the world. What happens next? When you book your PADI Scuba Diver course, one of the Dive Academy team will contact you to arrange access to PADI's amazing eLearning package. You'll read about diving, watch videos and answer quizzes to learn all the theory you need to know. Typically this takes approximately 3-4 hours over three chapters. You don't need to do this all at once, but you do need to complete your eLearning prior to your pool date(s). The team will also arrange your pool training, this would typically be done in three 1-1.5 hour sessions for 12-13 year olds or one 3-4 hour session for adults. Finally you'll complete two qualifying Open Water Dives on one day. To complete the Scuba Diver course you'll need to be comfortable in the water and be able to swim 200 metres without stopping (no time limit) and tread water or float for 10 minutes. While all equipment rental is included within your course fee, we recommend that you purchase your own mask, snorkel, boots and fins. These will improve your comfort underwater and will be fabulous items fo Scuba Diver consists of three elements: - eLearning to help you gain knowledge and understanding of the basic principles of diving - 3 pool training dives to learn basic scuba skills - 2 open water dives to put your newly gained skills into practice When you complete the PADI Scuba Diver course you'll be qualified to dive to 12 metres under the supervision of a PADI professional. This is a great choice for people short on time, or who know they'll be diving with a guide. We also recommend the Scuba Diver course for 12-14 year olds in the UK who might find the full Open Water Diver course a little challenging. One of the Dive Academy team will contact you to arrange your pool training session at a convenient date before your Open Water dives.
