  • 199 British pounds
  • Stoney Cove, Leicestershire

All the details:

The PADI Wreck Detective speciality, written by the Nautical Archaeology Society, will help you to enjoy wreck dives even more. The remains of a wreck act as a link to the past, it may commemorate a battle and the lives which were lost on board, or new objects may be discovered that can tell us more about past societies. Becoming a Wreck Detective will open your eyes to the common features found on shipwrecks, key identifiers to look out for and what to do next if you would like to find out more about a particular wreck site. Looking at objects found on wreck sites can tell us more about how the people on board lived, worked, traded and moved around the world Discovery is just the beginning, by the end of this course you will have the skills to identify what kind of shipwreck you are investigating and will be able to recognise some of its key features. You'll complete a workshop and two dives with your PADI instructor in order to: - Expand your knowledge of wreck sites - Understand wreck dive site limitations and laws - Develop skills to recognise key features of common wreck sites - Learn wreck identification and information gathering skills - Plan and organise your wreck dives This course offers something a little bit different and is open to PADI Adventure Divers (or equivalent) aged 15 and over. You will require an underwater slate and and compass, we also recommend that you carry a cutting tool and dive light. Standard kit hire is not included in the course price. If you are a Dive Academy member you will receive free standard kit hire for recreational courses taken with us. Talk to a member of the team about joining Dive Academy.
